Kenny Chesney Tops Off 2025 with CMAs

Fresh off his successful residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, his Country Music Hall of Fame induction, and the publication of his autobiography Heart Life which recently topped 2 New York Times bestseller lists, country music superstar and longtime Takamine player Kenny Chesney wrapped up his busy year by performing live at the 59th CMA Awards, enjoying industry icon status that every other artist in the building dreams of.

Starting his two-song medley with “American Kids,” Chesney — who regularly alternates between his KC70 Signature Model and his well-played, vintage EF317 — chose the latter for the occasion (while his beach-themed KC70 starred in all Sphere shows). Standing next to Chesney during their CMA performance, longtime guitarist Jon Conley played his own Takamine, a thermal topped EF360S-TT.

Most Chesney aficionados know that Takamine Guitars have been Kenny’s go-to acoustic since the then-aspiring 26-year-old first arrived in Nashville. And as his 2025 Sphere and CMA performances attest — some 31 years, 17 tours, and 1,514 concert performances later — it’s still Takamine Guitars that earn Chesney and crew’s loyalty, night after night, year after year.

Since that’s exactly what Takamine guitars are designed and crafted to do, it’s very gratifying for everyone at Takamine to serve in the sharing of Kenny’s music. Here’s a look at his current touring plans for 2026 including a second, and all new Sphere Residency.
